Frequently Asked Questions About HR4
Everything dealers ask before making the switch.
About HR4
What is HR4?
HR4 is an all-in-one HR platform built specifically for automotive, RV, and powersports dealerships. It manages the full employee lifecycle — hiring, onboarding, health and safety compliance, time and absence management, learning and development, performance, and people analytics — in a single system designed around how dealerships actually operate.
Who is HR4 built for?
HR4 is built for dealerships with 100–4,000 employees, including single-rooftop stores and multi-location dealer groups. It serves automotive, RV, and powersports dealers across Canada.
What makes HR4 different from generic HR software?
Generic HR platforms are built for office-based companies with single locations and stable workforces. HR4 is built around dealership-specific realities: multi-rooftop operations, high turnover, provincial health and safety compliance, and the need to push accountability to managers and department heads — not just the HR team.
Is HR4 only for automotive dealerships?
No. HR4 serves automotive, RV, and powersports dealerships. If you sell or service vehicles of any kind, HR4 is built for your operation.
Pricing & Value
How much does HR4 cost?
HR4 is priced as a monthly subscription per employee per month (PEPM). Pricing is based on your dealership size and the plan tier you choose (Operate, Engage, or Grow). Contact us for a custom quote based on your headcount.
Is HR4 worth the investment?
Based on data from HR4 customers: dealerships see 50% faster hiring, $9,100 in annual savings per manager, and 35% less time spent on administrative tasks. For a dealership with 10 managers, that's up to $91,000 in annual savings — before accounting for time recovered across HR, managers, and staff.
What's included in each plan?
Operate: Core HR — hiring, onboarding, HR workflows, employee records, and white-glove support. Engage: Everything in Operate, plus time and absence management, learning and development, and regulatory readiness. Grow: Everything in Engage, plus compensation management, performance management, and playbook tools.
Integrations & Existing Systems
We already use ADP. Do we have to switch payroll?
No. HR4 integrates directly with ADP Workforce Now. Your payroll stays exactly where it is — HR4 handles everything else: hiring, onboarding, H&S compliance, time tracking, workflows, and reporting. You keep ADP for payroll and fix your HR in one place.
We use Payworks. Does HR4 work with that?
Yes. HR4 integrates with Payworks. Your payroll doesn't move — HR4 fills in everything Payworks doesn't cover: hiring, onboarding, H&S compliance, time management, workflows, and reporting.
What other systems does HR4 integrate with?
HR4 integrates with major job boards (Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Monster, and others), background check providers (Checkr), assessment tools (The Predictive Index), and SSO providers (Microsoft 365). See the full integrations list at hr4.com/integrations.
Implementation & Onboarding
How long does implementation take?
HR4 offers white-glove implementation — our team handles the setup and rollout. You don't project-manage the process. Timeline varies by dealership size and complexity, but most dealerships are fully live without heavy internal lift.
Who manages the implementation — us or HR4?
HR4 does. Our white-glove service model means we handle the heavy lifting. Your team provides information and approvals; we handle configuration, data migration, and training.
What happens to our existing employee data?
HR4's implementation team manages data migration as part of the onboarding process. Your existing employee records are moved into the platform during setup.
Will our staff actually use it?
HR4 is consistently rated for ease of use by dealership HR leaders (4.7/5 on G2). The platform is designed so managers and staff can participate in HR tasks — scheduling, onboarding checklists, time tracking — without HR chasing them. Adoption is built into the workflow.
Health & Safety Compliance
Does HR4 handle health and safety compliance?
Yes — and more comprehensively than most HR platforms. HR4 includes a full H&S program: provincial compliance tracking, digital inspections, incident management, health and safety boards, H&S forms, and compliance reporting. It’s not just training — it’s running the entire H&S program.
Does HR4 support Canadian provincial H&S requirements?
Yes. HR4 is built for Canadian dealerships and includes provincial health and safety compliance tools. This is one of the key areas where generic HR platforms fall short.
What happens if we have a compliance audit?
HR4 keeps your compliance documentation organized and audit-ready at all times — digital inspection records, incident reports, policy acknowledgments, training completions, and H&S board activities are all tracked and accessible.
Multi-Rooftop & Dealer Groups
Does HR4 work across multiple dealership locations?
Yes — multi-rooftop workflows are built into HR4’s core architecture, not added as an afterthought. You get cross-location dashboards, unified reporting, and the ability to manage HR consistently across every rooftop in your group.
Can we see HR data across all our locations in one place?
Yes. HR4 includes cross-rooftop visibility with 100+ pre-built reports and custom dashboards, so you can see what’s happening across your entire dealer group without pulling reports from multiple systems.
Support
What kind of support does HR4 provide?
HR4 is known for its support — customers consistently describe it as feeling like a partner, not a vendor. White-glove support is included in every plan. You’re not left to figure it out alone after implementation.
What do customers say about HR4 support?
“The support team at HR4 is amazing. It feels more like a partner than a vendor.” — Gen P., Director of HR
